Alam el film Magazine

In May 2006, after the establishment of the “Iraqi Filmmakers Without Borders Organization”, which the founders changed its name to become “IACCD” as a result of the issuance of the 2010 Law on Non-Governmental Organizations. We decided to establish a paper magazine interested in the world of film. Therefore, we found that the idea in this sense is suitable to be name of the magazine, so it became the "Film World" magazine. so, we sought to prepare the articles of the magazine, which needed for Arab journalists to write in, who was friends of us from Yemen, Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt so they welcomed the idea, Especially since we are completely academic, being specialists and academics, we have raised the level of the idea so that the magazine should not be news or entertainment. Rather, it is a magazine concerned with the world of film from a critical and analytical point of view.

we strived to make the magazine in its highest horizon, growth and development, so it’s a peer-reviewed magazine for research in cinema sciences and aesthetics. It is a new idea in the world of film that has not been highlighted before. And because we are a nascent organization and in a society that does not sponsor civil organizations, and there is no legal legislation in society that supports the ideas and efforts of civil society seeking development through the precise terms of reference of the organizations. We started publishing the magazine in modestly sized with a few pages, using interesting topics in criticizing and analyzing the cinematic films. We submitted the first ed to obtain accreditation from the Journalists Syndicate, and we obtained accreditation under the Journalists Syndicate book No. 890 dated 5/29/2006.

The magazine received a wide welcome and we started the second ed, but our hope was disappointed, like all serious magazines that do not find funding. There is a lot of evidence of the loss of serious efforts that do not have money in developing societies, which have their own priorities, and have problems other than culture. In developing societies there are many governments of countries that do not realize the value of serious efforts and their impact on life! Based on this understanding, we discussed the costs of the first ed and the hardship of this matter, and we reached the point of postponing this serious work and this effective cultural idea. until another time, so that we might find a more effective way to finance the magazine.
