The 3rd Baghdad International Film Festival
the third festival edition was held for eight days 3-10 0f October 2011 at the Iraqi National Theatre. With support of the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Youth. also, participation of the Egyptian National Film Center, Arab Gulf Festival and the Film Workshop in Brussels, the festival celebrated as a guest of honor the "Federal Cinema of Germany" as an important leap forward.
The festival contained very important six competitions that expressed the level of his protection progress level, which are: “Feature Narrative Film Competition, Short Narrative Film, Documentary Film, Arab Female Directors Film, Human Rights Film, and AFAC Competition for Iraqi Cinema.” 120 films from 32 countries participated. This edition witnessed a great launch for the festival, surprising and influential cultural event in cultural and cinematic milieu in Iraq. The Baghdad Film Festival created a big hope for the establishment of simple film festivals everywhere in governorates of Iraq.
