The 7th Baghdad International Film Festival

This edition was held at the National Theater from 1-5 October 2015. The festival received 1,100 films from all over the world, of which 150 were selected for the festival competitions, which are five competitions except the Iraqi Film Competition. The seventh edition had an excellent number of European and international films. It also had, for the second time, exclusive "premiere" screenings of some films in Baghdad.

One of the first exclusives was the opening show which was Al-Qurban film screening, directed by Iranian Ahmed Reda Darwish. Mr. Ahmed was pleasured to screen his film at the festival when he expressed his statements inside the halls of the festival and to the media. The film was an unparalleled success during the opening screening of this edition. the festival was described after this edition as one of the most important cultural activities in Iraq, and what distinguishes it that it has Iraqi, Arab, regional and international character because it represents an ambassador of culture and creativity of Iraqis and Arabian in the continents of the world.
